Yo-Landi as MEDUSA

Here she is, the first one, Phew, 2 weeks working on the sculpture night and day, 8 sheets of photos of Yo-Landi. My first foray into realistic people or portraiture, it looks enough like her for me. The piece is large, the head is 60mm high, 2.5 mm swarofskis for eyes, and my trademark BLOOD beads, coming soon, white, Ivory, Black, Coral and maybe metallics if I can get the resin to work in the mold ?

Excellent for award ceremonies and performance, Hey there Ninja come and buy the first !!!

Here is my first logo clasp thing, cast in pewter 26mm long, soon to be attached to all my pieces. Its an infinity loop so it has only one side ???? time becomes a loop - Strange-Loop

Refine . . . .

I have started using a clear resin that lets me do metallics, but only simple shape, they look far better than the images, The black beads are truly classy and sinister ! The fist is 50-55 mm high depending on how much wrist you get. I need to make some lady fists, and I cannot wait to see Medusa in metallics !!

Silver Fist !!, but I think I will call it "FIST OF STEEL"

My friend and major Strange-Loop supporter Heather MacVean bought one of these and it inspired me to revisit it. I am using a gun metal blueing compund to make black-blue the chromed rings, and for this one only I made up an ace chain from chromed and blued rings, The Octopus sits in a 90mm diameter ring.

Refine, Refine . . . .

The Aged Silver chain went a weird Orange-Gold Colour, Ace. Getting better plated chain is another job coming up soon.

Turquoise Octopus, the sculpture is 77mm high and 84mm wide.

I am making up a handful of the happy accidents like the coral snake, this one on this great brown burnt looking silver chain, and this blue stained over Ivory Snake on a silver chain, that became great blue colour when I aged it with sulphur.

 I have been playing around with these charm necklaces and bracelets (not shown), with and without blood, and they will expand and develop over the summer. I am gonna model up maybe 8 different shoes, from trainers to slutty Jimmy Choos, and cast them up, girls love shoes !!!

Hard to photograph Black on Black.

Heather got me to make a Rosary length necklace and I will be doing a lot more of this sort of thing, It looks classy. I made a bunch of these just in black which is very cool , but hard to photograph.

Shorter length Octopus necklace, I like the watery feel of the glass, I am planning to do some kinda waves using these glass beads and then mythical creatures rising out of the water, maybe a Hippocampus, not sure how its gonna work, but it feels like it will be complex.

 Experiments with wolf suspension and colours, The 3 chains hanging around the breasts or flat on the chest seems to work well. The wolf is 120mm high by the way, yeah Massive, but not big enough to be a cod piece.

 Below is wolf in a harness, its a great look on the person.

Yo-Landi and the Metal Monkeys

While waiting for the real metal Monkeys I have mocked a few up . . .for photographic purposes . .  . I can't wait to wear my Monkey Skeleton Mayor necklace thing , like 12 of them all the way around !!!. . . .

As a direct communication to "Die Antwoord" I have started work on "Yo-Landi as Medusa" ! ! ! ! !
It is an Insane plan . .  .  but it just might work   *&%$£)??
I have never done any kind of portraiture ever, but in the scheme this is not the weakest link . . .
but it seems a way to send a message . . . .  .  . . . . . .

I want to do her doing some hip-hop snarl, but without proper reference this is almost impossible, so I am doing a straight on head first, and then will make more versions, I have just done the face and one ear, and will now refine the face, try gems in the eyes, then make the snakes of her hair holding the chain. I have lots of ideas of things to make, this went to the top of the list because Nova wants a "Snake-Lady" and the way it will attach to the chain is pretty exciting !!!

This is the latest version of my favourite piece, the Blood is now beautiful streams of geometric reflecting-refracting glass facets.

I Hope you are not scared by this piece, it is a real favourite of power women, a beautiful black dress, this statement piece, job done.

Experts in my work will note these pieces do not have the little round beads between the square ones, everything is change and evolution . . .  No Too ALike.

Even Longer Blood on the white ''Fist O Power'', I have made some black ones with very short blood, Izzy wanted one that looked like it had just been hacked off in a samuri film and was just starting to SPURT !! , images coming soon. These fists have adjustable chain, so you can wear them right tight up against your neck easily.

Great colour combination with black. If you have not worn one of these snakes yet they slide up and down the chain in a very satisfactory way, and then kinda lock where ever you want, sweet.

The classic white snake, this one has purply pink eyes and a gold chain, a winner and goes with anything , any colour, and makes a wicked head dress, Images soon !!!!

Fist Mk2: ''The Fist Of Power'', Glass Blood and The ''Big Bad Wolf''

I have finally found some glass beads that I like and have managed to make some classier blood using square glass beads, 4mm, 6mm and 8mm, but in between each I put a 3mm round bead so that the strands flow and curl when they move.

I really love them after looking so long for something like this, I have all other shapes, so will be doing all sorts of variations, still searching for some nice red drop beads.

I have redesigned the fist, made a new sculpture which holds onto one of the chains perfectly.  It is larger than the original, the size being determined by the size of the chain, and so much more beautifully modelled compared to the original. I took many photos, printed them out and then just worked very patiently and at the end I looked at it and was like Wow did I make that. I could do with a left hand, and different sizes for different chain, and maybe a woman's hand since women like these and this fist is quite kind off aggressive. So many sculptures to make . . . . .

Here is the white fist, with seven long strands, and it feels good the way the fist moves on the chain, the weight of the glass, and the way the strands swing.

Turquoise Fist, I could not wait for the square beads to arrive so I made this using the little round beads, 9 strands.

 Here are a couple of test wolves,they are kinda great and yet totally crazy, aimed at performers or window displays.

It Feels Like Art ?

This is the tree-beanstalk thing that I have made for ''maybe a vole'', god I love it !!! All the hands come from the DnA Factory's collection, thanks a lot boys !! It is 2.1 meters high, but it could be fixed to wall.It has really made me feel that all the traditional displays are out and I have to be really inventive, I feel really excited about making some wild window displays, this is just the beginning !

Here he is, my first piece made for performers to wear, or maybe shop window displays. He is 10cm wide, 12 cm high and sticks out  10 cm, I need bigger chains I guess, Any Rap Stars out there ?? or maybe Lemmie ??

Finding it hard to concentrate on tying up these little torsos, Any volunteers ???? 

These are my Fist version 2's, Now the chain goes through the fist, it's larger and so much better modelled, with a selection of glass beads, I will only be using glass on these Me Thinks ??? It is hard to find red glass drop shaped beads, but WOW look at those square ones !!!!
